 Materials: pencil, colored markers, prismacolor pencils Processes: I started with a pencil outline which I filled in with colored markers. I colored outside the edges with lines to show movement. I added colored pencils for detail. Ideas: My idea was to continue with the rough colored in shapes from my last piece. At first I was going to show the sword slicing the kiwi but realized the sword would be out of the picture once the kiwi split open to show his face. I wanted to continue the idea of the kiwi apocalypse by showing someone fight back.

 Materials: pencil, colored markers, sharpie, silver colored pencil Processes: I started with a pencil outline which I colored in with colored markers. I colored it not as much in the lines to change up the style. I highlighted a side of the characters to make them stand out. I finished with a light shade of silver pencil in the background. Ideas: My idea was to continue with the comic theme and to develop on the idea of kiwis taking over the world by showing a chase.

I used lighter markers than before in order to layer the colors to make it look like the buildings are underwater. I added colored pencil for detail. Ideas: My idea was to show the city and how it is fairing against the kiwi apocalypse. I used different shades of blue to show the city flooding. I chose pink for the sky to contrast the blue water.

Ideas: My idea is to show what the kiwis are doing after the apocalypse. I changed the colors to evoke a more cheerful tone (only for the kiwis of course).

 Finally something not AP art related! This is just some art I made for a card game I love. Some of the creatures are from the actual game, some are different.

More colored markers and colored pencils were used to add detail. Ideas: My idea was to wrap up the story. I used glass to show his past life, as if his life is flashing before his eyes. I know I said I wouldn’t make an edgy piece but I couldn’t resist the idea of images on glass. This piece will lead to the kiwis celebrating their victory with parties and tea. I intend to use lighter colors from now on.

I did not erase the pencil marks in order to give it a more scrappy feel. Ideas: I wanted to make a somewhat menacing yet cute art piece. I think the mech and kiwis accomplishes this. My idea was to develop the story by the kiwi mech busting into Tim and Scadoosh’s smoothie shop. They will meet their doom and then I plan to change the color theme again to show what the kiwis are doing after the apocalypse.

Ideas: My idea was to make a piece showing them sheltering somewhere from the kiwi apocalypse. I used reds and greens to continue the color theme from the earlier pieces.

I did not perfectly fill in the outline in order to give room for other colored markers. Finally I used colored pencils for the kiwi beaks. Ideas: To go with the red and green theme I used different shades of the colors this time in order to make the pieces not look the same. After coloring in though I realized the guy looked like a watermelon! At first I was going to include the truck spilling out all the kiwis but I ended up leaving that out because I thought It would distract from the main focus. My idea is to show there are many kiwis ready to take over the world, starting with Tim and Scadoosh unfortunately. This piece leads to future pieces of them hiding and kiwis ravaging the town.

After that I added dark and light gray marker. I added detail with colored pencil but this time I didn’t need to as much because I focused on the markers more. Ideas: My idea for this piece is to introduce the kiwis by changing the color scheme to specific colors while also keeping the real and cartoonish theme in the piece. At first I was going to have the kiwi still wearing the hat but I realized it would have come off when they took down the hood so I left it out.

Then I went over the marker with colored pencils to add detail. I added splotches of green and red to hint at the transition from no color palette to mostly all reds and greens. Ideas: This piece is a transition from the normal to the apocalypse. The kiwi’s beak sticking out of the hood hints at a kiwi inside. I plan to use a different color palette and tone for future pieces. I’m tired of the simple, I’m ready to shake things up a bit.

 Materials: pencil Processes: I start with a pencil outline which I will later fill in with color. At first the proportions were off so I had to change it. Ideas: My idea is to get a little more realistic while also being cartoony. The only cartoon part will be their faces and a speech bubble. This piece is to show a transition to night time.

I added dots for texture and quickly colored the sky for a loose feeling. I went over with colored pencil to soften the marker and to color in the comic. I used pencil and marker for the shadow. Ideas: This piece hints at what’s to come. It officially introduces the viewer to the kiwi birds and their intentions. This way the viewer is eased into the apocalypse that is to come... This also hints at why the truck is filled with kiwis which will be revealed in a later piece. The silhouette of the “guy” in the truck also hints at later pieces.

Colored pencil was added for texture and shadow. Ideas: This piece piece depicts Tom and Scadoosh starting their smoothie business! Their use of kiwi fruit is offensive to the kiwi birds so they start scheming for the most extreme revenge, world domination! This piece is meant to further the story and provide a setting.

Materials: pencil Process: I used a ruler and and two dots on the outside of the piece to show perspective. Ideas: This piece leads up to the epic conclusion of the story when the kiwi birds take over the world. Using kiwi fruit for smoothies is the final straw so kiwis soon plan world domination. I will do a similar piece later but during the apocalypse.
